A blue 2024 Cadillac XT5 for sale parked in a field at sunset.

There are so many SUV options to choose from that narrowing it down to just one model can be quite difficult, especially if you’re eyeing a luxury brand like Cadillac. If you’re looking for a specific kind of SUV that has certain features, is large enough for the family, offers some quality amenities, and has decent towing capabilities, then you’re going to want a decent-sized SUV to accommodate your needs.

You’re likely going to want to put your focus on the XT5 or XT6 since they’re both midsize models—but between searching for the right 2024 Cadillac XT5 for sale and finding a slightly larger XT6, you might be wondering what the major differences are. Knowing this can help you determine which one better fits your lifestyle. That’s where this breakdown can be helpful as we outline the key differences between these two excellent midsize Cadillac SUVs…

Differences in Seating Arrangements

One of the major differences between the 2024 Cadillac XT5 and the 2024 Cadillac XT6 is in how the seats are configured. The XT5 is a compact SUV with two rows, seating up to five people; you have two bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear that seats three people. The XT5 also has folding rear seats to reap additional cargo capacity.

The XT6, by comparison, is a three-row model with seating for between six and seven people: that’s two bucket seats up front, two captain’s chairs in the center, and two seats in the rear for the six-person configuration, or it’s two bucket seats up front, a split bench in the middle, and two seats in the back for the seven-person configuration. This changes how much space you have in terms of cargo capacity, as well as passenger dimensions, depending on how many people you’re carrying.

Now, if you don’t need a three-row SUV, the XT5 provides ample space within its segment. You do get more open cargo capacity behind the rear seats at up to 30.0 cu.ft. of cargo volume with the XT5, compared to the three-row configuration of the XT6 that has a more limited initial 12.6 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the third row. You can fold the third row to gain more space for the XT6, but if you don’t absolutely need the third row, then the XT5 may be more suitable for the job. That’s not to mention that smaller vehicles are easier to handle on the road, which is something to consider if you’re buying an SUV and maneuverability is a concern.

Differences in Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is one of the big differences between these models, and such a difference usually boils down to size and powertrain. What’s interesting here with the XT5 and XT6 is that they both share the same powertrain options, but how they’re utilized gives you very different outcomes in fuel efficiency. The XT5 offers you slightly better figures because the XT6 is slightly larger, so what you gain with the XT6 in terms of its size with the three rows, you lose in the fuel economy department.

The XT5 and XT6 are both powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder and a 3.6-liter V6. The four-cylinder makes 235 or 237 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the V6 makes 310 hp at 271 lb-ft of torque. While the engines are the same, the estimated fuel economy range is quite different. With the XT5’s turbocharged four-cylinder, you have up to 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway in front-wheel drive. For the all-wheel drive configuration, you have up to 21 MPG in the city and up to 27 MPG on the highway.

For the XT6, the four-cylinder provides up to 21 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway in front-wheel drive, while in all-wheel drive, it delivers 21 MPG in the city and up to 26 MPG on the highway. The V6 provides a comparable range for the XT5 and XT6, with the XT6 topping out at 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway in front-wheel drive, or 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway in all-wheel drive; the V6 on the XT5 tops out slightly higher in all-wheel drive with 26 MPG on the highway. So you aren’t seeing much in the difference between the two SUVs if you get the V6.

The big difference is with the four-cylinder and how you get more out of the XT5 than the XT6. So, if the extra range is important to you, the XT5 can make a difference over long-term travel. The reason for the discrepancy in fuel economy between the two vehicles—even though they’re both using the same powertrain configurations—is that the XT6 is bigger and heavier, so it takes a bit more power to move than the XT5.

Differences in Towing Capacity

SUVs can be useful for light towing and traversing tricky terrain. They can be a good solution for those who not only want a good luxury-themed SUV for travel but also a vehicle that can be used for recreation where some modest towing is required. In the case of the XT5 and XT6, both vehicles can tow up to several thousand pounds worth of cargo. There are different towing ratings for different powertrains, and despite the powertrains being the same between the models, the XT6’s top-end towing capacity just barely beats out the XT5 when both have the V6, with the XT6 managing 4,000 lbs compared to the XT5’s 3,500 lbs.

However, both vehicles have the exact same base level towing when it comes to the inline four-cylinder: a max towing capacity that tops out at 1,000 lbs. So regardless of whether you get an XT5 or an XT6, if you get one with the four-cylinder powertrain, you will always have a base towing capacity of 1,000 lbs; this makes the XT5 a bit more viable if you opt for the four-cylinder as you get the exact same towing capacity as the XT6, but also with slightly better fuel economy as well.

Rear view of a red 2024 Cadillac XT6 parked in a snowy field.

Differences in Price

One of the major differences between these two Cadillac SUVs boils down to pricing. Now, if price isn’t a big deal to you, then it won’t really matter that the XT6 has a higher price tag than the XT5. However, if price is a major consideration and you’re looking for a great luxury SUV that offers enough space for a small family and a good range with enough power under the hood, then you may find the 2024 XT6 moves into pricier territory. Even though both SUVs are available in the same trims—the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport—the starting MSRP for the XT6 is nearly $5k more than the XT5.

As you go up the trim line, the pricing continues to stay distinct between the two, with the XT6 being the more expensive of the two SUVs, and this is mostly to do with both size and features, such as the semi-autonomous driving system Super Cruise being present on the upper-end trim of the XT6. Regardless of trim, the XT5 is still several thousand dollars cheaper than the XT6. This can obviously impact what you expect of a Cadillac SUV.

Shopping for the Right Cadillac SUV

If you’re still stuck deciding between a 2024 Cadillac XT5 and a 2024 Cadillac XT6, we can definitely help you make the right choice at LaFontaine Cadillac. Whether you’re looking for a three-row model or you’re more inclined toward a smaller model, we can help you find the right fit for you. Either the XT5 or XT6 will be moderately priced with good towing, solid fuel economy, and room for at least five passengers.

A red 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ is shown parked in a garage near a Cadillac dealer.

Are you ready to drive into an all-electric future? As your Cadillac dealer and trusted automotive partner, we can’t wait to bring your dreams to life with an all-electric powerhouse like the 2024 LYRIQ. The LYRIQ debuted in 2023 to widespread acclaim for its modern, sophisticated design and potent heartbeat. It showcases Cadillac’s ongoing success in balancing innovative technologies and functional features with luxury to deliver a transformative and engaging experience anytime you’re on the road.

Appreciating this balance and the LYRIQ’s appeal isn’t hard, especially when you look at rivals like the Acura ZDX. Acura is Toyota’s luxury marquee, making the ZDX comparable to the LYRIQ, at least by classification as a BEV midsize SUV with a penchant for luxury. However, these models are different in several critical ways, particularly in terms of tangible value or how you reap the rewards of your investment. Where does your hard-earned money go in the 2024 LYRIQ versus the 2024 ZDX?

Cadillac gives drivers far more for their money, making the 2024 LYRIQ the clear winner over the 2024 ZDX. But how so? From its more affordable starting price and value-oriented packaging to its expansive digital displays and cutting-edge driver assistance tools, here’s a closer look at how the 2024 LYRIQ outperforms and outranks the 2024 ZDX every electrified mile ahead…

Price & Value: From Base to Top-Tier Trims

For 2024, Acura asks drivers to dig deeper into their pockets to splurge on the ZDX. The entry-level A-Spec RWD ZDX starts at $64,500 and rolls off Acura’s production floor with a 102-kWh battery and single motor that produces 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. As a luxury SUV, it features heated and ventilated leather front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, an 11.0-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, and an 11.3-inch color touchscreen display with Google Built-In, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

The 2024 ZDX’s packaging is impressive, but Cadillac ups the ante with the 2024 LYRIQ. At a far more affordable price of $58,490, the LYRIQ offers comparable performance with its 102-kWh battery and single motor, producing 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of instant torque. However, the LYRIQ steals the spotlight with its tech-savvy and opulent interior that features a 33-inch advanced LED display that gives this SUV a digital cockpit complete with Google Built-In, wireless phone charging, and every smartphone and in-vehicle app imaginable. The combination of innovative features and premium components—like the fixed full-glass roof and the advanced Cadillac Smart System suite of driver assistance tools—is extraordinary, especially with the entry-level LYRIQ Tech’s lower price tag.

Perhaps even more impressive is how Cadillac pairs this tangible value with luxury and performance across the LYRIQ’s three-trim lineup. In contrast, Acura forces drivers to pay a premium, with the performance-oriented ZDX Type S priced north of $74,000 with its dual motor configuration. The LYRIQ makes this level of performance readily available, with the LYRIQ Sport priced just over $63,000 and offering every performance and luxury imaginable, from the industry-leading Super Cruise tool to Nappa leather seats and a potent dual motor powertrain that produces up to 524 lb-ft of instant torque for pure thrills in the driver’s seat.

Digital Displays and Connectivity Tech

Cadillac established its reputation for luxury in the early 1900s, knowing drivers deserved something more than the practicalities of the standard automobile. Over the last century, Cadillac has redefined luxury by combining premium materials with functional features and innovative technologies that heighten every experience behind the wheel. We see this firsthand in the 2024 LYRIQ and its expansive lineup of technologies that put it legions ahead of rivals like the 2024 ZDX.

The ZDX is no slouch when it comes to tech, but it doesn’t match what you’ll find in the LYRIQ. For example, the 2024 ZDX has a modern cockpit with a combined 22 inches of high-definition screens. This layout is framed by an 11.0-inch Precision Cockpit Driver Information Cluster and an 11.3-inch Center Information Screen, the SUV’s infotainment system. The center display features Acura’s first-ever integration of Google Built-In and seamless smartphone integration via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This SUV also features a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with 18 speakers, a 14-channel amplifier, and a subwoofer for an exciting listening experience.

While the ZDX is impressive, the LYRIQ easily steals the attention with its 33-inch LED display and a plethora of advanced technologies working in front of and behind the scenes. The LYRIQ’s 33-inch LED display defines the cockpit, expertly integrated into the dashboard and offering 9K resolution as it curves toward the driver for optimal visibility. This display provides vital performance insights and access to a long list of features, like Google Built-In, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and various in-vehicle apps. It also works with the LYRIQ’s 19-speaker premium sound system to deliver an immersive, concert-like listening experience throughout the cabin, which is complemented by the SUV’s 26-color ambient lighting system that synchronously sets the vibe.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Cadillac and Acura prioritize your safety in the driver’s seat, with the 2024 LYRIQ and 2024 ZDX outfitted with their respective safety suites of tools that work behind the scenes to enhance your situational awareness and mitigate the potential for a collision. The ZDX’s suite is known as AcuraWatch, while the LYRIQ’s suite is known as the Cadillac Smart System. Both outfit their SUVs with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping tools, forward collision alerts, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. However, the LYRIQ’s suite is more extensive and includes Cadillac’s Teen Driver mode, which gives parents peace of mind and offers coachable moments when teen drivers get behind the wheel.

As expected, Cadillac and Acura offer an extensive lineup of advanced tools as you climb the LYRIQ and ZDX trim levels. For LYRIQ drivers, these tools include Front and Rear Park Assist, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian & Cyclist Braking, Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Side Bicyclist Alert. The ZDX’s optional features are less extensive, adding two more parking sensors at the front and rear, Automatic Parking Assist, and Rear Pedestrian Alert.

Beyond these suites of standard and available tools, the most notable advantage the 2024 LYRIQ has over the 2024 ZDX is Super Cruise, the industry’s first true hands-free semi-autonomous driving tool. It works with integrated tools like adaptive cruise control and the LYRIQ’s lane-keeping system to manage the SUV as it cruises at highway speeds without requiring your hands on the wheel. This intuitive system will transform your experience in the driver’s seat. Alternatively, the ZDX’s Hands-Free Cruise is new for 2024, giving Super Cruise the advantage of being well-tested and thoroughly vetted.

The Verdict

Regardless of your budget, don’t you want to get more while keeping more of your hard-earned money? Cadillac certainly agrees, and so do we. The 2024 LYRIQ is Cadillac’s midsize all-electric powerhouse, and it offers exceptional luxury and tangible value, from its outstanding packaging and value-packed trims to its innovative driver assistance tech and expansive 33-inch LED display. It’s everything you expect from a luxury SUV but more with an electric heartbeat that promises pure thrills as it delivers up to 500 hp and 524 lb-ft of instant torque for jaw-dropping off-the-line acceleration.

The 2024 ZDX doesn’t compare, with Acura forcing drivers to spend more and get less. The answer is obvious, with Cadillac remaining true to its reputation for building luxury vehicles that ensure drivers reap the rewards of their investment every mile down the road. It’s an incredible approach that gives the 2024 LYRIQ its well-deserved place in the spotlight, and hopefully a well-deserved place in your garage.

A blue 2023 Cadillac XT5 is shown parked by a Cadillac dealer near Troy.

Cadillac has long been a popular choice among drivers for its fusion of performance, luxury, and cutting-edge technology. This brand is renowned for its meticulous attention to detail and use of premium materials to create sophisticated vehicles that stand the test of time.

At LaFontaine Cadillac, we’ve proudly stood by the Cadillac name for over four decades, offering our community and the surrounding areas the ability to drive one of the nation’s most tenured brands. As a Cadillac dealer near Troy, our commitment to helping you shines through in everything we do, from our warm and welcoming showroom to the care that each team member takes to understand your needs.

Cadillacs appeal to drivers who are looking for more than just a means of transportation. After all, sitting at the wheel of a Cadillac is an experience like no other. These aspects combined make Cadillac an excellent option for drivers who not only want a powerful vehicle but also want to make a statement. The best example of this is the 2024 Cadillac XT5, which offers a dynamic blend of luxury, safety, and technology.

The History of the Cadillac XT5

While the Cadillac XT5 (its name meaning “Crossover Touring 5”) might be a newcomer on the scene, its history is actually more than twenty years old. Cadillac introduced its first SUV, the Escalade, in 1999, and this success prompted the brand to consider a smaller SUV option. This led to the debut of the Cadillac SRX in 2004, which offered three rows, a powerful V8 engine, and a smooth ride.

The SRX’s second generation brought with it an even smaller version. This compact SUV gave drivers the choice of a turbocharged engine with a finely tuned suspension and a feeling of gliding—rather than driving—down the road. A few years later, in 2017, when the brand redesigned the SRX again, the XT5 was born.

Along with a new name, the XT5 became the first Cadillac built on this brand’s new modular platform. Since then, the XT5 has delivered drivers to their destinations with an air of sophistication, along with the latest advancements in power, connectivity, and safety. Today, the XT5 is in its second generation and presents a compelling option for you, too, whether your daily travels take you into Detroit for work or keep you close to Troy.

What Makes the 2024 Cadillac XT5 So Grand?

This answer may take you down many paths. First, the XT5 offers more than twenty available safety and driver assistance features. Second, its generous cargo space makes the XT5 feel much bigger than it is. Finally, the connectivity you gain with available features like Alexa Built-In keeps you and your passengers entertained, up-to-date, and ready for adventure. The following is a closer look at each of these…

Safety Features

The Cadillac brand has long been dedicated to safety. This is evident in the XT5’s long list of available features offered across all three trim levels. The Cadillac Smart System—Cadillac’s collection of safety and driver assistance features—offers you increased confidence during the drive, whether you’re headed to pick up groceries or drop the kids off at soccer practice. Some of the available safety features include the following:

Forward Collision Alert: This system is multi-faceted. It alerts you when you’re too close to vehicles traveling down the road as well as detects a potential front-end crash due to a sudden change in traffic flow. Additionally, when working in conjunction with Automatic Emergency Braking, you gain support if you’re unable to brake in time.

Front Pedestrian Braking: The XT5 also alerts you to pedestrians entering your space. Like the Forward Collision Alert system, this system also works with the Automatic Emergency Braking feature to assist when you’re unable to brake in time.

Safety Seat Alert: When traveling, the XT5’s sensors are able to monitor real-time traffic for potential crash possibilities. Not only that, but the Safety Seat Alert system sends vibrational pulses to your driver seat that let you know where to expect an impact.

Rear Seat Reminder: This tool is activated when the rear door is opened and closed before or during the drive. Once activated, it reminds you to look in the back to make sure you’ve not forgotten anything as you turn the car off.

Parking Assistance: This system is vital when parking in the city, alerting you to how much space you have behind you. Along with this system is the available HD Rear Vision Camera, which provides you with a clear view while in reverse.

These are just a few of the more than twenty safety and driver assistance features available on the 2024 XT5. Our team can review each with you, as well as what features are offered on each trim.

Staying Connected

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s essential for us to stay connected—especially when we’re on the go. The XT5 answers this call with features that elevate your experience, such as the availability of Amazon Alexa Built-In; this allows you to access your shopping lists, favorite apps, food delivery options, and more while waiting in the carpool line at your child’s school. This easy access saves you time, which is always a benefit.

Connectivity doesn’t stop there. You and your passengers will appreciate multiple USB charging ports as well as two 12-volt power outlets. This is perfect for when you need to finish up a project on the go. In addition, the available built-in Wi-Fi gives support for up to seven mobile devices from a range of up to 50 feet away.

Finally, working hand-in-hand with the XT5’s safety features, you can gain extra peace of mind with the support of available OnStar. However, an even more dynamic feature is the XT5’s Night Vision System, which gives you added awareness while driving at night; its thermal imaging picture is displayed above your steering wheel, alerting you to anything in your lane that you might not be able to see with just the headlights.

Power & Performance

While your daily travels might seem mundane, taking you to work and back, your weekends are a different story. With stellar power and performance, you can tackle the open road with ease and enjoy every curve along the way.

The 2024 XT5 offers your choice of a 3.6L V6 or a 2.0L Turbo engine, depending on the trim. Both options provide you with Active Fuel Management, which helps improve fuel efficiency by shutting down cylinders in certain driving situations. You’ll also enjoy responsive handling thanks to the Electronic Precision Shift, which includes an advanced nine-speed transmission that offers more control and a smoother drive.

Speaking of smooth driving, the XT5 has your back, whether you’re surprised by a winter storm or navigating through spring rains. The XT5’s driving modes include the available all-wheel drive, off-road, and sport configurations for certain trims, as well as snow/ice, touring, and sport modes for front-wheel drive models.

With the power and performance offered by the XT5, you and the family can enjoy a weekend drive, head to Carpenter Lake for hiking, or check out the Troy Farmers Market with ease.

A silver 2024 Cadillac XT4 is shown at dusk after leaving a Cadillac dealer.

The Cadillac XT4 is a striking compact SUV with looks that are more than ready for cosmopolitan environments, and it’s certainly a model the valet would hesitate to remove from the front of a business, so as to impress incoming clientele. Cadillac took the luxury features and timeless design elements it is known for and infused them into a highly practical and comfortable vehicle.

While it might not look like it, this beauty can even tow a solid 3,500 lbs, so if you dare get it dusty (it’s so pretty you might not want to), you can count on it to tow a small camper or boat out to a relaxing destination. However you enjoy life in Oakland County, we know you’ll love the XT4. As our community’s dedicated Cadillac dealer, we are enthusiastic to showcase this vehicle—which we feel is flawless—to our customers. It’s as convenient and practical as it is stunning.

One thing our customers often note is what a joy it is to simply occupy the XT4’s cabin. Cadillac installed thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing features throughout that give it a real “wow” factor the moment you step inside. Cadillac is known for delivering a VIP experience in all of its vehicles, and it continues to deliver on that reputation with the 2024 XT4. Everywhere you look, you’ll find features that make you want to stay inside just a bit longer. Long drives are a pleasure rather than a nuisance in this comfortable and beautiful cabin.

A Sunroof for an Open, Airy Feel

If you usually feel cooped up in cars, you’ll love the available power dual-panel sunroof in the XT4. It will afford you sweeping views of your surroundings, and it will give you some mood-boosting natural light on sunny days while letting you take in the beauty of snowy ones during Michigan’s long winters. If you like to take road trips to our gorgeous national parks or landmark landscapes, you’ll love getting a panoramic view of the sky through this roof.

The sunroof also has a tilt feature, meaning it can let in a breeze if you want fresh air but not a gale. This can be a rejuvenating feature when you’ve been in the car for hours and want an influx of nature. With an express open and close function, you can close both panels with the push of a button. Turn the ceiling into your screening area of your surroundings when you want to, and close it when you don’t.

Heating and Ventilation for the Ideal Temperature

It’s hard to enjoy a road trip when you’re too hot or too cold. Luckily, the 2024 XT4 has heated and ventilated front seats with breathable hatchwork in the cushions and seatbacks. When you have to slip inside this vehicle on our notoriously cold winter days, you’ll love having these heated seats. Alternatively, on a hot summer day, you’ll enjoy having that breathable fabric against your back and legs; nobody likes getting sweaty in the car and having to peel themselves off of their seat. When you turn the vehicle on, it will automatically adjust the ventilation in the seats to the appropriate level for your cabin’s current climate.

There’s also an available heated steering wheel. Say goodbye to winter days when your hands are so frozen cold that it’s hard to grip the steering wheel, and you can also forget the ritual of rubbing your hands together for five minutes before you can start the car. If you’ve lived in Michigan for a while, then you know how brutal it can be to get into a freezing cold car in the mornings here. You don’t have to deal with that much longer in the XT4.

The black interior and dash are shown in a 2024 Cadillac XT4.

Adjustability for Comfort and Better Views

The front seats enjoy excellent adjustability that keeps both driver and co-pilot comfortable and makes it easy for the driver to see properly over the steering wheel. The driver seat has available eight-way power adjustability. It also has a power lumbar massage feature to fight fatigue in your lower back.

The front seat passenger gets a six-way power adjustable seat, and a power lumbar feature is available for this passenger, too. It boasts three levels of massage intensity. Additionally, the driver’s seat can recall two preset positions—so if two people regularly drive this vehicle, each of your fobs can prompt the XT4 to recall your ideal seat settings. The same goes for the exterior mirrors.

Active Noise Cancellation

If you need your vehicle to be a peaceful oasis at the end of long days, you’ll love the active noise cancellation. It boasts technology that drowns out the sound of the engine and the road, which creates a serene environment that’s great for focusing on your thoughts, enjoying an audiobook, or even letting passengers take a nap.

An Available AKG Audio System

If you typically listen to music or other audio media during your drives, consider the available 14-speaker system from AKG. It features strategically placed speakers throughout the cabin, so everyone enjoys a surround-sound experience of music, podcasts, and more. It’s perfect for those who rely on tunes in the morning to set the mood or—at the end of the day—to wind down.

Driver Info Screens

There are many stunning screens throughout the XT4, boasting important driver data about the road ahead, vehicle telemetry, and more. One feature we really like to show drivers is how it’s designed: the screens are curved towards the driver, creating a cockpit-like feel and making it easy for drivers to view pertinent information while they’re traveling. In this way, the cabin feels like it hugs and supports the driver, keeping them focused and informed.

Ambient Lighting

You might notice how soothing the interior of the XT4 is the moment you get in. Some of that is created by the ambient lighting, which consists of mood-setting lights in the dash and door panels. The XT4 creates an atmosphere that sweeps you away from the stresses of the day, and these lights are one more way it does just that.

A red 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ is shown from the front at an angle while charging.

It’s an exciting time for the auto industry, as the quantity and capability of EVs are growing year by year, and electric powertrains are allowing more of us to bypass the pump entirely. We’ve seen electrification of the car, SUV, truck, and even the work van—and now, Cadillac is here with the all-new 2024 Lyriq as the ultimate symbol of status and superiority.

Having debuted last year, the Lyriq was the combination of everything we’ve come to expect from the crown brand—an imposing presence, first-world luxury, and performance that leaves little to the imagination. Here at LaFontaine Cadillac, we’re all too eager to recommend what our namesake brand has planned for this year, and finding a Cadillac Lyriq for sale is a siren song too enticing to ignore.

An Exterior Worthy of the Cadillac Name

While you might feel nostalgic for the days when Cadillac made tailfins cool and produced Elvis Presley’s favorite car, automotive design has long since evolved and put those shapes in the past. That said, Cadillac’s design is still the brand that defines the American luxury car, as it had during the formative years of the industry.

The 2024 Lyriq is a midsize SUV that’s draped in black from front to back. Its intimidating front end and spoked wheels instantly make a statement of domination, but for those looking for something nostalgic, the Lyriq’s tail lights look like something from the 1960s—and we haven’t even popped the hood or gotten behind the wheel yet…

A red 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ for sale is shown from the rear at an angle.

EV Performance That Takes Things to the Limit

Cadillac is synonymous with high performance. The 2024 Lyriq leaves nothing to chance and offers drivers the opportunity to experience the grandeur and pedigree that they have come to expect. Two powertrain options are available, and both are far ahead of anything else the competition offers.

The standard setup is a 102-kWh single-motor powertrain that propels the Lyriq with 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque in rear-wheel drive; this will certainly appeal to those who long for the days of the muscle car. It’s rated to get 314 miles on a single charge, making it one of the most efficient EVs for the upcoming year.

For those of you who are craving more power and road domination, Cadillac has you covered with a 102-kWh dual-motor setup that gets an unbelievable 500 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque in all-wheel drive. While you might not be thinking of towing, this model’s capacity to haul 3,500 lbs with the dual-motor drivetrain allows you to do so if the need arises. This model is geared toward high performance, yet it still gets a range of 307 miles on a full charge—the best of both worlds at your fingertips.

Cadillac’s 2024 Lyriq will have competitive charging times and can be juiced up from the comfort of your own home in a pinch overnight or in spurts here or there, just as easily as you can at a public charging station—although the DC Fast Charging stations will still get your battery full far faster than any home charging unit.

Unparalleled excellence and performance aside, the Lyriq also grants its driver greater environmental consciousness while allowing them to save a considerable amount of money. Ratings from the EPA attested that drivers would not only be eligible for a potential tax rebate with their purchase but would reap savings in the ballpark of $4,000 over the course of five years. (This figure is in comparison to the average of the other vehicles in its class.) If there was one brand that could engineer a luxury vehicle that saves money, it’s Cadillac.

An Interior Fit for a King

Some manufacturers might think that range and horsepower are more than enough to satisfy, but Cadillac has never been one to follow trends and has consistently thought outside of the box. From the moment one gets behind the wheel of the 2024 Lyriq, there’s a very good chance their jaw will drop to the floor once upon the sight of the generously sized infotainment screen and instrument cluster, which spans an impressive 33 inches. While infotainment screens industry-wide are still relatively small (with the larger ones usually measuring no more than twelve inches), Cadillac raises the bar considerably.

The design Cadillac brings to the table blends practicality with posh while never forgetting its luxury roots. The two-toned color scheme appeals to the senses, and it looks far superior to anything Tesla offers. Multifarious amenities enhance the experience behind the wheel; among them, the usual suspects—such as compatibility with Apple and Android products—are standard, and joining them is a Wi-Fi hotspot. If that wasn’t enough, the entry-level stereo system is a 19-speaker AKG setup, and it’s standard on all trims of the 2024 Lyriq.

With Google built-in, the capabilities that exist on the road are quite literally endless. The Lyriq also features active noise cancellation; keeping road and traffic noise far removed from the interior provides a calm and serene driving experience that rivals those of all other electric vehicles.

Technology That’s Ahead of the Curve

With some of the industry’s best horsepower, range, and comfort, it’s hard to think we could ask for anything more from Cadillac—but then we reminded ourselves who we were dealing with. For example, the 2024 Lyriq hosts cutting-edge safety and driving assistance features like enhanced automatic parking assistance, pedestrian and cyclist detection, Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.

Standard on select trims is Adaptive Cruise Control. As one of the most renowned features to emerge in recent years, this feature takes the concept of cruise control to an entirely new level, adjusting your speed in conjunction with traffic patterns, maximizing your reaction time, and lowering the chance of collision. Available for the Lyriq is GM’s biggest technological breakthrough, SuperCruise, a semi-autonomous driving feature that allows for hands-free operation. It can significantly reduce driver fatigue when traveling long distances—and with hundreds of thousands of miles of pre-programmed roads, that feature is far ahead of its competitors. With its impressive range and the benefit of SuperCruise, longer road trips just got more enjoyable—and with a highly sophisticated interior, your journeys might be more enticing than the destination!

The Escalade-V has one of the most powerful engines ever in a full-size luxury performance SUV, garnering uncompromised speed, acceleration, and strength. This engine was added to the V-Series variant of the Escalade in 2023, and 2024 marks the twentieth anniversary of the V-Series, making this version of the Escalade-V particularly impressive.

If you want to see the difference the V makes to the 2024 Escalade, you ought to come by LaFontaine Cadillac, your dedicated Cadillac dealer in Highland Township. If you’re fortunate enough to live in this community, then you likely enjoy the finer things in life and have chosen this brand explicitly for what it gets you—and with the Escalade-V, you’ll get the pinnacle of luxury and performance in a full-size SUV.

Better Performance Than Any Other Full-Size SUV

The key to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V is its potent powertrain, centered around a 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 gas engine; this is a more powerful version of the 6.2-liter V8 on the original Escalade, with the key addition being a 2.3-liter positive-displacement supercharger. This engine is hand-built with cast aluminum and uses variable valve timing and direct fuel injection to improve efficiency during high performance.

This engine’s supercharger boosts output to an astounding 682 hp at 6500 RPM and 653 lb-ft of torque at 3600 RPM. In contrast, the original 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 hp at 5600 RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4100 RPM; while these are solid numbers, they just can’t compare to those of the Escalade-V. Both V8s are paired with Cadillac’s Hydra-Matic ten-speed automatic transmission, which gives you exceptional responsiveness as you accelerate.

The results are impressive, as the 2024 Escalade-V can go from zero to sixty in a blistering 4.4 seconds; this is a race-ready level of performance in a full-size SUV—a feat not too recently thought impossible. Such speed and agility will help you merge easily onto any highway. The Escalade-V has a top speed of 125 mph, too, so you can sprint past any obstacles in your path.

The 20th Anniversary of the Escalade-V

The 2024 Escalade-V marks the twentieth year of the V-Series, and Cadillac has made a number of exterior and interior improvements to mark the occasion. The Escalade-V has a new front grille graphic that’s unique to this model, and there are special V-Series badges on the front and rear fascias. The puddle lamps project an exclusive logo at the feet of approaching occupants, and the interior touchscreen features a comparable logo in its start-up splash screen.

The Escalade-V rides on a set of 22-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in all-season tires. Your passengers are sure to enjoy the ride thanks to standard Magnetic Ride Control and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. The former adjusts the Escalade-V’s shock absorbers up to 200 times per second, smoothing out all the bumps in the road, while the latter allows you to raise and lower your Escalade-V to an optimum height for your driving conditions. For example, raising it when off-road will give you better ground clearance to cover obstacles, while lowering it on the highway will reduce air resistance, affording you better acceleration and fuel economy.

Bountiful Cabin and Cargo Space

Cadillac has given the 2024 Escalade-V one of the roomiest interiors of any full-size luxury SUV on the market. With 168.4 cu.ft. of space, front-row passengers get 44.5 inches of legroom, those in the second row enjoy 41.7 inches, and those in the third row won’t feel cramped with 34.9 inches to stretch their legs. All seats boast leather upholstery, so not only does it look great, but your passengers will enjoy incredible comfort.

The trunk on the Escalade-V opens to provide 25.5 cu.ft. of space, and this can be expanded to 121.0 cu.ft. by simply folding down the rear two rows. Even just folding down the third row boosts the cargo area exceptionally to 72.9 cu.ft. This vast interior space combines with the powerful engine and sturdy frame and suspension to allow the Escalade-V to carry a payload of 1,330 lbs. In other words, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V puts the “utility” in “sport utility vehicle.”

A Vivid OLED Display System

The 2024 Escalade-V has an OLED display system composed of three different screens. The 7.2-inch Control Panel is to the right of the 14.2-inch Cluster Display, while the 16.9-inch infotainment screen is to the right of that. The Control Panel is a touchscreen that enables you to conduct the appearance and utility of the Cluster Display, which affords vital driver information like gauges, driver assistance features, built-in navigation, and exceptional tech tools. The built-in nav system employs augmented reality to overlay live directional details over a projection of your forward view, making finding your destination easier than ever.

The infotainment display is a touchscreen that also uses a rotary controller with jog functionality, so it’s easier to locate the program or app you’d like to use. This screen allows you to connect your devices wirelessly via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling you to make hands-free calls and stream your favorite apps. You can leave your cables at home, especially since the Escalade-V has a wireless phone charging dock, so you and your passengers can stay charged anywhere on the road.

If you prioritize your on-the-road entertainment, then the 2024 Escalade-V is the one to choose. It comes with an AKG Studio Reference audio system standard, with 36 speakers strategically placed throughout the cabin. Also standard is the Rear Seat Entertainment System, which allows passengers in the back to choose the programming they would like to watch, with display screens in the backs of the front seats’ headrests and special headphones so as not to disturb other occupants.

Cadillac Super Cruise

Cadillac has made its Super Cruise standard on the 2024 Escalade-V. This ingenious, futuristic feature affords you hands-free driving on hundreds of thousands of roads across North America. When you engage Super Cruise, your vehicle will not just regulate its speed but its steering; however, you will still have to pay attention to the road, as this feature is semi-autonomous and not a replacement for sensible driving.

Super Cruise is part of the Cadillac Smart System of standard driver assistance features. This suite also includes HD Surround Vision, wherein a bank of cameras grants you a full view around your Escalade-V. The standard Surround Vision Recorder can capture these images, which can come in handy if you’re involved in an accident. In all, you get over a dozen different driver assistance features that help increase awareness, improve response time, reduce the chances of a collision, and improve the safety of occupants in the unlikely event of an accident.

Achieve Excellence in the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V

It’s hard to make a great vehicle even better, but Cadillac has achieved this with the 2024 Escalade-V. This model earns accolades as it celebrates its second decade as a unique performance variant of this popular full-size luxury SUV. If you are a Highland Township resident who wants to stand out from the crowd and drive a vehicle that’s vogue, vigorous, and versatile, then come by LaFontaine Cadillac and secure the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V for yourself!
